Four weeks ago, Google (Blogger) send me a message telling me The Generator Blog has been found to be a spamblog by one of their spambots. Which of course it isn't.
They offered me the possibility to send a request for reviewing, which I did. They also told me there would be a grace period of a couple of days before I would be able to post again.
After a week, nothing had happened. Instead I got another message telling me my site was a spamblog. Again I requested a review. This has happened several times up until now. I also send a couple of messages to Blogger Help. Again, nothing happened. This has been going on for four weeks now and I haven't been able to post anything to The Generator Blog.
Yesterday I asked Philipp Lenssen, webmaster of 'Google Blogoscoped' for help, since I knew that people from Google are reading his site.
They obviously must have done just that, because now, all of a sudden, I am able to post again. Thank you Philipp for posting about my problem on your site.
New updates will be posted this afternoon. Thank you for your patience.

I hate to say this really, but I think Google is starting to approach the tail end of their importance curve.
This is not the first legit blog to be misidentified as a spam blog. Sometimes the "death penalty" for blogs to get massively demoted from Google results seems arbitrary. And most importantly for 90% of searches I've made that's mattered for the last year or so, the top three sites, and often the first full page, are either useless or spam.
I really think the only thing keeping them in the running is the fact that there's still no real alternative, and whatever alternative arises will probably get targeted by the spammers post-haste. Spam is really ruining the internet.
I like your blog a lot. Glad to see you back!
Phew, I was running out of Silly Sites. Welcome back, Gerard!
I subscribe to your rss feed. I am glad to see things got resolved for you finally.
I had somewhat similar problems with google a few days ago. Every single search I did I got the message:
We're sorry...
... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.
It wasn't the first time either.
:-(
I am glad things are better too. And on a separate note....YOU'RE THE PRESURFER?? THE Presurfer?
OMG...friends of mine/peeps link to you all the time...I link to you! Well, to this site, anyway.
You've always been such an invaluable resource.
:-)
Welcome back!
Great to see you are up and running again Gerard! Wuhoo!! :) And a big round of applause to Phillip who seems to have solved your 'spambot accusation'
I'm looking forward to getting a 'generator fix' one again!
Wow, that stinks, and I'm glad you're back on the air!
Nice to see you back on!
Te extrañé enormemente
I missed you so much
We're glad to see you back!

Glad to see you're back. Generator blog is one of my favorites!
Something is going on with Blogger or Google or both. It took me four weeks just to get them to fix spell check on my site.
It seems that every time something new is added it screws something else up for the rest of us and takes forever to get fixed.
Glad to see you back.
Gerard- I'm very sorry about what happened. What Johnh said is unfortunately often true. Happy that the misunderstanding was solved. What would we do without such an imaginative, creative and excellent site!
Regards and thank you
Emily
Grrrrr to Google!
Glad to see the The Generator Blog back on-line.
Keep up the good work!!
Glad you're back!
And 'Bad Google, Bad!' *slaps google*
Glad that got sorted.
Time to switch to Wordpress, perhaps?
Glad you are back. I had something similar at my BFU blog months ago, but it didn't last as long. Perhaps it takes more effort the more blogs they mislabel.
Love your site and have for a long time. Keep up the great work!
gerard...I visit your blog everyday and I always find something interesting. I just want to thank you and wish you the best.
I hope there won´t be any more problems!

Welcome back, Gerard. After so long without seeing any updates I was starting to get a little worried.
After Google took over Blogger, I started having all sorts of problems that I'd never had back when Evan was running things. I'm hoping they eventually improve user service and iron out the glitches, but I keep my archives backed up just in case.
Thanks for being persistant with these Google people, too. I wouldn't know where to send my readers for creative, fun inspiration if it wasn't for you and the Generator blog.
yay! - so glad you're back!
Ah, that explains everything. I was getting concerned Gerard that maybe you were ill.
Welcome back! us Generator Blogites are used to your many great links.
Why are all the good sites picked on and the crappy ones slide by.
